Golf: 9 Feb 08
I shot a 74 today and lost money. My partners didn’t play well.
I had four bogeys:
- The first was on the 5th where I tried to hit a hard drive, and popped it up. My five-wood hit a tree. And I didn’t get up-and-down after a half-way decent pitch.
- I hit a very good drive on the 9th. I was about 140 yards out and was between clubs … hard 9? easy 8? I hit the hard 9 and skulled it over the green. I couldn’t get up and down from hell. Bogey.
- I once again hit a nice drive on 14, but was into the wind from about 180 yards out. A thin 5-iron didn’t reach the green and missed a short putt for par.
- Three-putted 17.
I had a couple of birdies:
- I reached the 15th, a par 5, in two. A 2-putt birdie.
- On the 18th, I snaked in a long putt.

- Greens in regulation: 13
- Up-and-downs: 2 out of 5
- Fairways: who cares? It’s the middle of winter; we’re rolling them everywhere
- Putts: 37 (boo!)
